SCHIZACHYRIUM SCO PRAIRIE BLUE
Grower Notes:
Schizachyrium scoparium 'Prairie Blues' is commonly referred to as Prairie Blues Little Bluestem Grass. This showy grass is native to prairies, fields and open woodland areas. It features upright clumps of flat green leaves with a touch of blue at the base. In August, purple flowers appear in 3" racemes on branches that rise above the foliage. Downy white seed pods develop in September which provide a nice contrast for fall.
Prairie Blues Little Bluestem Grass thrives in average, well-drained soils in full sun. It can be drought tolerant once established. Cut back in spring before new growth appears.
